25 week check up

We had another appointment today and I am still boringly healthy! Griffin is also doing very well and measuring right where he is supposed to. His heartbeat was 152 bpm and my blood pressure was 120/70. We will begin the 3rd trimester on Wednesday... that is CRAZY!!! My next appointment it will be time for the glucose test so pray I can get that gross stuff down ha!

Thank you all for your advice on the registries. I love tips from mom's who have been there and done that :)

My mw was concerned about the possibility of pre-existing diabetes, so I had to take the glucose test back in the first trimester (and "get" to do it again later for the gestational diabetes test). I knew I was borderline the opposite of diabetes, but I took it anyway to make them happy. :) Indeed, it came back with LOW results, not high. But I wanted to let you know (you've probably already heard these tips--just in case you haven't) I was told it's more palatable chilled, so I stuck my glucola in the fridge (if they'll let you take it home first). I also heard you can bypass your tongue more if you drink it from a straw! So, there are my two pointers. I was certainly ready to be done drinking it by the end, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. :) I hope it goes smoothly for you!

Everyone always talks about how nasty the glucose stuff was, but honestly it wasn't nearly as bad as every one says! Just make sure you drink it cold!

I hated the taste of that stuff, but it really is not as bad as everyone says it is.

YAY! So glad your doing well! I promise that glucose test isn't bad. Everyone talked about it like it was terrible, but it was just really sweet, not bad at all! You will do great!

I agree- defionitely better cold. The one my doc had was actually flavored like fruit punch...I kinda liked the taste, it was just super sweet.

here's my advice for the glucose test. They tell you to eat normal that morning before you take it. We'll make sure you don't drink/eat something high in sugar. I drank OJ (as i did every morning) and failed it and had to go back for the 3 hour test...which was awful!!! The results from the 3 hour test showed that I passed so much I probably should have never had to take it....they said it was probably from the OJ!
