Business Debut!

Well it is as official as it gets now. Thank you so much to everyone who racked their brains with me to think of a good name. I went back and forth on several of them and they either had already been used before or I was just afraid it was a bit too cutsey, ya know? ha. Anyways I have decided to stick with the name that I knew would always be classy and would go with whatever way I decide to take my business. Tomorrow at our seminary's craft and bake sale I will be setting up a table to get my name out there.. dont you love the business cards too! Thanks Jen :)

Feel free to check out my website and also share it with your friends. You can expect many more new items coming your way soon! www.justlindseycreations.blogspot.com

Thank you in advance for all of your support! I love creating new things for you :)

A thought I just cant get out of my head...

The 5 Step Partial Birth Abortion procedures:
A. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps. Remember this is a live baby)
B. The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal.
C. The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.
D. The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.
E. The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.

I know it is probably b/c I have a baby growing inside of me right now that this hits me so hard, but honestly I think it would have even 6 months ago. I have never heard an explanation quite like this, and of course for good reason. Of course Obama doesn't want us to really know what happens in something that he approves. Instead he tries to sugar coat it so that it sounds like we are giving the mother's freedom and a choice. That is a bunch of crap if you ask me. What about all of these babies that never get a voice? They are simply just ripped out of their mother's womb and forgotten about. Is jamming scissors into someone's head okay? No.. and it does NOT matter how old they are either.

I will for sure be voting for McCain, if only for the simple issue of abortion. There is no way I could sleep at night knowing that I helped the most liberal senator in the history become President and in turn kill millions of babies.

Again I am not big on forwards, but this one is very relevant for these 6 days before the election. I beg each of you.. vote with your conscious, not the popularity.

This article is from Huntley Brown - he is a fabulous concert pianist, man of God and is a black man. This is his reasoning for not voting for Obama. Mr. Brown is right....we must vote according to Gods word (and Christian values), not our current economical status.

Why I Can't Vote For Obama
By Huntley Brown

Dear Friends,

A few months ago I was asked for my perspective on Obama, I sent out an email with a few points. With the election just around the corner I decided to complete my perspective. Those of you on my e-list have seen some of this before but it's worth repeating...
First I must say whoever wins the election will have my prayer support. Obama needs to be commended for his accomplishments but I need to explain why I will not be voting for him.
Many of my friends process their identity through their blackness. I process my identity through Christ. Being a Christian (a Christ follower) means He leads I follow. I can't dictate the terms He does because He is the leader.
I can't vote black because I am black; I have to vote Christian because that's who I am. Christian first, black second. Neither should anyone from the other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I won't be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I knew Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior.
In an election there are many issues to consider but when a society gets abortion, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research, human cloning wrong, to name a few, economic concerns will soon not matter.
We need to follow Martin Luther King's words, don't judge someone by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I don't know Obama, so all I can go on is his voting record. His voting record earned him the title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007.
< http://nj.nationaljournal.com/voteratings/> NATIONAL JOURNAL: Obama: Most Liberal Senator in 2007 (01/31/2008)

To beat Ted Kennedy and Hilary Clinton as the most liberal senator, takes some doing. Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years. I wonder what would happen to America if he had four years to work with.

There is a reason Planned Parenthood gives him a 100 % rating.
There is a reason the homosexual community supports him.
There is a reason Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Castro, Hamas, etc., love him.
There is a reason he said he would nominate liberal judges to the Supreme Court.
There is a reason he voted against the infanticide bill.
There is a reason he voted No on the constitutional ban of same-sex marriage.

There is a reason he voted No on banning partial birth abortion.
There is a reason he voted No on confirming Justices Roberts and Alito.
These two judges are conservatives and they have since overturned partial birth abortion. The same practice Obama wanted to continue.

Let's take a look at the practice he wanted to continue.

There is a reason Obama opposed the parental notification law.
Think about this: You can't give a kid an aspirin without parental notification, but that same kid can have an abortion without parental notification. This is insane.

There is a reason he went to Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years.
Obama tells us he has good judgment but he sat under Jeremiah Wright teaching for 20 years. Now he is condemning Wright's sermons. I wonder why now?
Obama said Jeremiah Wright led him to the Lord and discipled him. A disciple is one in training. Jesus told us in Matthew 28:19 - 20 'Go and make disciples of all nations.' This means reproduce yourself. Teach people to think like you, walk like you, talk like you, believe what you believe, etc. The question I have is what did Jeremiah Wright teach (Obama)?

Would you support a White President who went to a church which has tenets that said they have a
1. Commitment to the White Community
2. Commitment to the White Family
3. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
4. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White community.
5. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
6. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
7. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.

Would you support a President who went to a church like that? Just change the word from white to black and you have the tenets of Obama's former church. If President Bush was a member of a church like this, he would be called a racist. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton would have been marching outside.
This kind of church is a racist church. Obama did not wake up after 20 years and just discover he went to a racist church. The church can't be about race. Jesus did not come for any particular race. He came for the whole world.
A church can't have a value system based on race. The churches value system has to be based on biblical mandate. It does not matter if it's a white church or a black church, (a value system based on race) is still wrong. Anyone from either race that attends a church like this would never get my vote.
Obama's former Pastor Jeremiah Wright is a disciple of liberal theologian James Cone, author of the 1970 book, A Black Theology of Liberation. Cone once wrote: 'Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him.'
Cone is the man Obama's mentor looks up to. Does Obama believe this?

So what does all this mean for the nation? In the past when the Lord brought someone with the beliefs of Obama to lead a nation it meant one thing - judgment.
Read 1 Samuel 8 when Israel asked for a king. First God says in 1 Samuel 1:9 'Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do.'
Then God says: 1 Samuel 1:18 ' When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day.' 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. 'No!' they said. 'We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.' 21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the LORD. 22 The LORD answered, 'Listen to them and give them a king.'

Here is what we know for sure. God is not schizophrenic. He would not tell one person to vote for Obama and one to vote for McCain. As the scripture says, a city divided against itself cannot stand, so obviously many people are not hearing from God. Maybe I am the one not hearing, but I know God does not change and Obama contradicts many things I read in scripture so I doubt it.

For all my friends who are voting for Obama can you really look God in the face and say; Father based on your word, I am voting for Obama even though I know he will continue the genocidal practice of partial birth abortion. He might have to nominate three or four Supreme Court justices, and I am sure he will be nominating liberal judges who will be making laws that are against you. I also know he will continue to push for homosexual rights, even though you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for this. I know I can look the other way because of the economy.

I could not see Jesus agreeing with many of Obama's positions. Finally I have two questions for all my liberal friends.

Since we know someone's value system has to be placed on the nation,

1. Whose value system should be placed on the nation?

2. Who should determine that this is the right value system for the nation?

Blessings,

Huntley Brown

Week 15

175 days to go! Wow that is crazy. And look how big our baby is! When I opened the update email I couldn't believe it :) Granted it still has a lot of growing to do, but it is getting there. And speaking of "it", I really HATE calling it that but that wont be for long! We are on the 23 day countdown before we find out the gender and we CANNOT wait! JR started this countdown a few days ago and is like a little kid counting down until Christmas.. it is so cute. I am still feeling well, minus sneezing and coughing WAY more than normal. (You can probably notice in the picture that I am a bit stuffy. It was taken just after a sneeze attack this morning!) Anyways from what the update tells me, this is normal for pregnant women to have more mucus build up than normal.

I do have some big news, or at least I think. Yesterday while sitting in chapel I felt something in my belly that felt like a feather rubbing against the inside of my lower stomach. I do not know of course if this was for sure the baby, but it was really cool to feel either way! I know that once I start feeling it more often I will be able to tell the difference between the baby and gas, but using my best motherly judgment I don't think this was gas bubbles :) It is a little early though, since they say 16-18 weeks but I will keep ya updated!

Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam. There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.")

My sweetest friend is leaving me!

Tomorrow I will have to say "goodbye for now" to one of the best friends I have made here in Wake Forest. Leigh and I met at work as she works in the office right beside me but we have become so much more in the last 2 years of knowing each other. She was also my teacher for a women's certificate class, we have cheered on sports games together, we celebrated birthdays together in February, she is my hair stylist, we have been teammates, we have shared monthly girl dates to Chilis, we have laughed together and we have cried together. She truly has inspired me with her deep love for Jesus and reliance on God in all things, as well as her many talents. She has taken my mom's job of cutting my hair ever since we have moved here.. and for those who have only had one beautician their whole life.. you know thats a big deal in trust :) She is also so so so creative and the best little gift giver.

I have so enjoyed learning from her and cherish her friendship so very much. Although it is hard for me to say goodbye for now, I do know that our friendship is the kind that will last even through the many miles that we will soon be. Leigh will be going back home to Virginia to spend a few months with her family before she heads overseas to serve with the IMB for 2 years. I am so incredibly proud of her and have no doubt that God will use her in many ways for His glory there. Right now I am hanging on to skype, facebook and blogger because those will be our only source of communication.. but thank goodness for them :)

I love you Leigh Carter and thank you for being real with me and loving me so much!

My business

So as my blogging family already knows, I have been contemplating putting my craftiness out to the public as a business for awhile now. Well I have a great opportunity to get a lot of contacts next weekend at our school's craft and bake sale so I have decided to go for it! I was hoping to be more prepared than I am at this point, but it really has snuck up on me as I now have about 5 days left to work on things, since I will be out of town this weekend. My plan is to just print off pictures of all the things that I have done and can do and just take orders from people, because I wont actually be able to personalize them on site anyways. With all of that said.. I need a name for the business!!! I have business cards that I plan to print off and hand out as well as making a website for everyone to be able to view as well. I have been asking around and running about a 1000 things through my head and I really just cant decide.. yes I am sometimes indecisive ha!

So I would like for my blogging friends to help me out please! Please either give me a yay for one of the ones that has already been thrown out there listed below, or give me an idea of your own! To make it a fun game, if you come up with my winning idea then I will make something special just for you, personalized of course :) I am going for something catchy and cutsey, mainly for baby gifts, something including a uniqueness about me hopefully and of course not hard to remember.

I have to finalize it by lets say Tuesday so I can print off the business cards and such. Whew can I do it??? :)

Names already suggested:

Just Lindsey
You are my sunshine
Doodlebug
Silly Willy
Momma's Monograms
Polka Dot Queen

Week 14

This week officially marks the one month countdown until we get to find out the baby's gender!! We were so excited to hear at our last appointment that we would go ahead an set up that appointment soon, and it will more than likely be Friday, November 21st. This is wonderful news for us b/c that means we will be able to share the news with our families in person once we go home for Thanksgiving!!! Although this update says the baby is only the size of a lemon, I know my cervix is about the size of a cantelope right now (or so the doc says) and therefore the reason that my belly is definitely stretching out there. It is a good thing that mom came in this past weekend so we could get a bella band b/c I have had to wear it several times already! I am not quite ready to give up my normal clothes just yet, so this definitely helps me still be able to squeeze into the bottoms, only without having to button them ha! Baby Isham will be making its first trip to Nashville this weekend and I am so excited b/c it is the first time I will get to see my bestest friends from college and introduce the bump to them in person :) Two of them are expecting in December, so I am glad I am not the only one with this crazy belly popping out haha! Thank you for your continued prayers as I am so grateful to be feeling great! Until next week...
Welcome to your second trimester! This is a big milestone because it marks the end of a critical development period. All the basic structures of your baby's body are formed now. Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck her thumb. Thanks to brain impulses, her facial muscles are getting a workout as her tiny features form one expression after another. Her kidneys are producing urine, which she releases into the amniotic fluid around her — a process she'll keep up until birth. She can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch her sucking her thumb. Your baby's stretching out. From head to bottom, she measures 3 1/2 inches — about the size of a lemon — and he weighs 1 1/2 ounces. Her body's growing faster than her head, which now sits upon a more distinct neck. By the end of this week, her arms will have grown to a length that's in proportion to the rest of her body. (her legs still have some lengthening to do.) She's starting to develop an ultra-fine, downy covering of hair, called lanugo, all over her body. Your baby's liver starts making bile this week — a sign that it's doing its job right — and her spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells. Though you can't feel her tiny punches and kicks yet, your little pugilist's hands and feet (which now measure about 1/2 inch long) are more flexible and active.
