A thought I just cant get out of my head...

The 5 Step Partial Birth Abortion procedures:
A. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps. Remember this is a live baby)
B. The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal.
C. The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head.
D. The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole.
E. The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed.

I know it is probably b/c I have a baby growing inside of me right now that this hits me so hard, but honestly I think it would have even 6 months ago. I have never heard an explanation quite like this, and of course for good reason. Of course Obama doesn't want us to really know what happens in something that he approves. Instead he tries to sugar coat it so that it sounds like we are giving the mother's freedom and a choice. That is a bunch of crap if you ask me. What about all of these babies that never get a voice? They are simply just ripped out of their mother's womb and forgotten about. Is jamming scissors into someone's head okay? No.. and it does NOT matter how old they are either.

I will for sure be voting for McCain, if only for the simple issue of abortion. There is no way I could sleep at night knowing that I helped the most liberal senator in the history become President and in turn kill millions of babies.

Again I am not big on forwards, but this one is very relevant for these 6 days before the election. I beg each of you.. vote with your conscious, not the popularity.

This article is from Huntley Brown - he is a fabulous concert pianist, man of God and is a black man. This is his reasoning for not voting for Obama. Mr. Brown is right....we must vote according to Gods word (and Christian values), not our current economical status.

Why I Can't Vote For Obama
By Huntley Brown

Dear Friends,

A few months ago I was asked for my perspective on Obama, I sent out an email with a few points. With the election just around the corner I decided to complete my perspective. Those of you on my e-list have seen some of this before but it's worth repeating...
First I must say whoever wins the election will have my prayer support. Obama needs to be commended for his accomplishments but I need to explain why I will not be voting for him.
Many of my friends process their identity through their blackness. I process my identity through Christ. Being a Christian (a Christ follower) means He leads I follow. I can't dictate the terms He does because He is the leader.
I can't vote black because I am black; I have to vote Christian because that's who I am. Christian first, black second. Neither should anyone from the other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I won't be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I knew Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior.
In an election there are many issues to consider but when a society gets abortion, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research, human cloning wrong, to name a few, economic concerns will soon not matter.
We need to follow Martin Luther King's words, don't judge someone by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I don't know Obama, so all I can go on is his voting record. His voting record earned him the title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007.
< http://nj.nationaljournal.com/voteratings/> NATIONAL JOURNAL: Obama: Most Liberal Senator in 2007 (01/31/2008)

To beat Ted Kennedy and Hilary Clinton as the most liberal senator, takes some doing. Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years. I wonder what would happen to America if he had four years to work with.

There is a reason Planned Parenthood gives him a 100 % rating.
There is a reason the homosexual community supports him.
There is a reason Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Castro, Hamas, etc., love him.
There is a reason he said he would nominate liberal judges to the Supreme Court.
There is a reason he voted against the infanticide bill.
There is a reason he voted No on the constitutional ban of same-sex marriage.

There is a reason he voted No on banning partial birth abortion.
There is a reason he voted No on confirming Justices Roberts and Alito.
These two judges are conservatives and they have since overturned partial birth abortion. The same practice Obama wanted to continue.

Let's take a look at the practice he wanted to continue.

There is a reason Obama opposed the parental notification law.
Think about this: You can't give a kid an aspirin without parental notification, but that same kid can have an abortion without parental notification. This is insane.

There is a reason he went to Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years.
Obama tells us he has good judgment but he sat under Jeremiah Wright teaching for 20 years. Now he is condemning Wright's sermons. I wonder why now?
Obama said Jeremiah Wright led him to the Lord and discipled him. A disciple is one in training. Jesus told us in Matthew 28:19 - 20 'Go and make disciples of all nations.' This means reproduce yourself. Teach people to think like you, walk like you, talk like you, believe what you believe, etc. The question I have is what did Jeremiah Wright teach (Obama)?

Would you support a White President who went to a church which has tenets that said they have a
1. Commitment to the White Community
2. Commitment to the White Family
3. Adherence to the White Work Ethic
4. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White community.
5. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for strengthening and Supporting White Institutions
6. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System
7. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.

Would you support a President who went to a church like that? Just change the word from white to black and you have the tenets of Obama's former church. If President Bush was a member of a church like this, he would be called a racist. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton would have been marching outside.
This kind of church is a racist church. Obama did not wake up after 20 years and just discover he went to a racist church. The church can't be about race. Jesus did not come for any particular race. He came for the whole world.
A church can't have a value system based on race. The churches value system has to be based on biblical mandate. It does not matter if it's a white church or a black church, (a value system based on race) is still wrong. Anyone from either race that attends a church like this would never get my vote.
Obama's former Pastor Jeremiah Wright is a disciple of liberal theologian James Cone, author of the 1970 book, A Black Theology of Liberation. Cone once wrote: 'Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him.'
Cone is the man Obama's mentor looks up to. Does Obama believe this?

So what does all this mean for the nation? In the past when the Lord brought someone with the beliefs of Obama to lead a nation it meant one thing - judgment.
Read 1 Samuel 8 when Israel asked for a king. First God says in 1 Samuel 1:9 'Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do.'
Then God says: 1 Samuel 1:18 ' When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day.' 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. 'No!' they said. 'We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.' 21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the LORD. 22 The LORD answered, 'Listen to them and give them a king.'

Here is what we know for sure. God is not schizophrenic. He would not tell one person to vote for Obama and one to vote for McCain. As the scripture says, a city divided against itself cannot stand, so obviously many people are not hearing from God. Maybe I am the one not hearing, but I know God does not change and Obama contradicts many things I read in scripture so I doubt it.

For all my friends who are voting for Obama can you really look God in the face and say; Father based on your word, I am voting for Obama even though I know he will continue the genocidal practice of partial birth abortion. He might have to nominate three or four Supreme Court justices, and I am sure he will be nominating liberal judges who will be making laws that are against you. I also know he will continue to push for homosexual rights, even though you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for this. I know I can look the other way because of the economy.

I could not see Jesus agreeing with many of Obama's positions. Finally I have two questions for all my liberal friends.

Since we know someone's value system has to be placed on the nation,

1. Whose value system should be placed on the nation?

2. Who should determine that this is the right value system for the nation?

Blessings,

Huntley Brown

you have to think a little more into it than jamming scissors into a head...they really dont do that. are you serious. if your child was raped ( heaven forbid ) and got pregnant...would really want her to have that baby? really? i dont think so. you really think god would want that.
im sorry...but i really hope you would not want your new baby growing up in our country the way it is being led today. sad sad world if you think that everything is fine.

Are you kidding me Anonymous?
The whole reason our country is in the shape it is in today is from people not willing to stand for God or moral values. Politically correct is Not correct. God forbid any female of any age be raped, or child be conceived from anything but loving committed couples, but to murder an unborn infant is not the answer! I know Lindsey would raise thw child to bring the glory to God, as it should be. Babies are gifts from God no matter how the are conceived. If a child was drawn and quatered or died from inserting sissors into the spinal cord after it is born then the mother would go to trial for murder, I do not see how anyone thinks this is an answer to an unplanned pregancy.
Obama cannot single handed get the USA of of the WORLD WIDE ecomonic crisis that we are facing today. As a matter of fact, we have the Clinton Administration to thank for the sub prime interest rates that are causing the housing failures we are having today. Finacinally are you any better off than your were 2 years ago? My guess is no, well isn't that interesting since the Democrats have had control over the Senate and Congrass for 2 short years! They have yet to "fix" anything.
The next president will not be able to fix the economy. Their legacy will be whom they appoint to the Supreame Court. So do we want for the next 40 years Justices who beleive that is acceptable to murder unborn children? who will make same sex civil unions legal? and take our country further and further away from God and his principals???
If you have ever been to DC and visited any of the monuments you will see what a role God played in founding this country.
I wish I had been old enough when Madalyn Ohara was taking prayer from public schools to do something about it. I like the unborn children did not have a voice then, I assure you, if I had I would have used it.
I am a proud Mother of 2 and Grandmother of 2. You are correct that this country is not being lead in the principals of God, so it is time for God's people to come together and take this country back and you can start by casting your vote for a Christian way of life!

I totally and completely agree with you lindsay, the preacher just the other day at our church said pretty much the same thing about the abortions. It is such a controversial issue. A vote for someone who supports abortion, is a vote for murder. I hate the country that we live in is struggling the way it is right now. But as a christian I am going to pray for our leader regardless of who gets elected.

Anonymous A, I love you and I'm glad you were born. I agree with you that things aren't fine. Lindsay, I'm glad you've got a baby that's coming into this world because I have no doubt that you will explain to that child that it is a creation of God and created in the image of God. God doesn't love that creation simply because it is has come into existence, but rather he reveals His love by PUTTING it into existence. WOW!...I'll affirm that all day long and won't be swayed based on my fickle feelings and a notion of my freedom of choice. I am not condemning you Anonymous A, but I pray that God will reveal the glory of Himself in His creation to you. May we all live in response to that glory in every aspect. The hard fact is, we can't pick and choose who we love and claim we're living according to the scriptures. We are to love God and love our neighbors as we love ourselves...and I'll be the first to admit, I fall short on a continual basis...but I'm not about to give up on it.

It would be interesting to know your views on gun control.
My guess is that you are for it. Too many people killed with guns so let's forget about the constition, and take away our right to bare arms.
I guess you don't consider abortion as an act of violence again the unborn and helpless.

Well said Lindsey! I am having a hard time right now seeing how we have a country who is being "tricked" into thinking that Obama is going to create a better way of life! I simply do not understand how something like partial birth abortion can even exist in our modern society. It sounds like some kind of torture from the Middle Ages. I read a blog the other day (when I myself was looking into some things about abortion) and was interested in seeing how people can support this. The woman said that a fetus or unborn child isnt a human being because it doesnt have a life outside of the mothers womb and therefore isnt the same as murdering a person! Can you believe that!!! Another argument that I have heard from the "pro choice" is that if we make abortion illegal, they will be performed anyway by people who are not physicians and in result killing the mother and child. I am sorry, but does this make it OK for us to legalize it?? I dont think so. I know there are a lot of lost people out there who dont have a relationship with God and dont believe as we do that life starts at conception and He has chosen to put that life here on earth. I think we should pray for anonymous A and others that can somehow justify to themselves that abortion is OK. I have been praying for our country and its people too that we will make the "right choice" and vote through the eyes of God, not just on how we think the economy is going to be affected. Also, Anonymous A I am wondering why you are anonymous? If you feel that strongly about your views and that they are just, why dont you share your name. I know I am certainly not ashamed of my thoughts.. and yes they do jam scissors into the head. There is proof and evidence of this everywhere. I think you should do a little research on the practice that you are defending! Go McCain!!!

Anonymous 1: I think it's quite amusing that you want to take away the right to "bare arms"...do you mean "bear arms"? If we all gave up the right to "BARE arms", that would mean no more tank tops, or bathing suits, or strapless dresses. I'm definitely not up for that!

Speaking from personal family experience, YES God would want a child that was conceived out of rape born...otherwise He would not have allowed that child to be born. No matter the circumstances of a child's conception, he or she is fearfully and wonderfully made and made in the image of God. God allows those things, such as rape, for HIS glory. No, I don't understand how He can allow it to happen, but I know He is good, just, merciful and loving. And even if the woman raped does not want the baby, there are thousands of childless couples (and couples who just love having kids) who would LOVE to adopt that child. And it might not specifically be scissors, but they jam a SHARP object in to the skull of a child...a tiny human being who has 10 fingers, 10 toes, whose heart has been beating for well over 8 months (by the time they do partial-birth abortions), who can feel pain, who will suck his or her thumb, and can distinguish his or her mother's voice. That child is alive! I have a 2 month old and I'm sorry, if you can look at an ultrasound of an 8 week old baby and see his little heart flickering like a strobe light and still say, "oh babies aren't really alive until they are out of the womb", you need to have your head checked, as well as your heart. I pray that we as mothers - myself, Lindsey, and anyone else who has children, will stand up for the rights of the unborn and do whatever we can to protect these innocent lives, just as we did while we were pregnant. I'm off my soapbox. But I am going to end with part of a very old song by dcTalk. It talks about how children can live without the evil and murder of legalized abortion.

I don't want another country
I want to recognize intent
Of our forefathers when they wrote
Precisely what they meant
Taken on the form of Christian
But the power is denied
In God we trust only when we lust
For the apple of our eye
One nation under God
With morals out of proportion
An end result is murder
Under legalized abortion

Children can live without it
Who's gonna take it away?
Children can live without it
Maybe we'll learn someday
Oh, that we'll learn, I pray

A miracle of God
Now looked on as a choice
It's time for all His children
To unify a voice
With influence in our numbers
And power in out prayer
We must defend the children
And fight for what is fair
What appears to be an upset
Can change its ugly course
And we can do it all
Through Jesus Christ our Lord

O, they can fight, but they cannot win
They can scream, but
none will hear them
Don't ya know that our
conscience will die
If we take away the
freedom to survive?

Folks,

We cannot make this sound as if Obama wants to go around chopping babies heads... Obama (and almost every single human being, for that matter) doesn’t want abortion to happen, and what he is saying is that the best way to avoid abortion is precisely prevention. That’s his big focus. Nobody wants babies to be “killed”, no one.

As a sidenote, I don’t think that killing iraqies in the name of oil is a very Christian attitude…

Regarding gay marriage, and some other aspects mentioned here.. I think we all need to be a bit more tolerant and open minded. I know many people (most of them Christians for that matter) that agree with same sex marriage, for the simple reason that it gives the same civil rights to all citizens, and that it doesn’t hurt or do bad to anyone. No one at all. It is only granting the same citizen rights to all individuals, regardless of your sexual orientation.

If we see the world with a broader perspective, allow ourselves to have gay friends, muslim friends, be open to other cultures and ways of understanding the world, God, etc. we will see that we all have so much in common with each other..

partial birth abortions are performed when the mother or child is at risk. They don't just let you decide at 6 months that you now want an abortion.

I find it hard to believe you're so willing to not vote for Obama on that stance alone. To me it is no different sending thousands of soldiers to Iraq to be killed for no reason. A war in which McCain supported from the beginning. Look at the mess we're in now.

Don't believe in abortion? Don't have one.

Tara said...

Ok, so this is the last time I am commenting but I just have to respond to the last comment because well... it really bothers me. I get so sick of hearing people say that we (conservatives) need to have an open mind. I always try to have an open mind on anything and understand the other side, but if being open minded means allowing abortion for sake of the women who have a right to have a choice or allowing same sex marriages, or not allowing a baby that has survived abortion have the same rights as any child that was invited to enter the world by its parents then you are right I am not open minded. First of all no one said that Obama wants to chop babies heads off, but is that really so different from the procedure that got this whole discussion started. Read the process of partial birth abortion again and tell me that is not the most cruel and unfair thing to do to anyone with a beating heart just wanting a chance to be born. Enough said about that.
I am speaking for myself when I say this but in regards to the Iraq war, whether or not you think it is the right thing to do or not facts are facts the people over there have caused many problems for us over the last decade and I am sure that many would argue that the first Iraqi war under senior Bush was a mistake too. I am not even going to go there because that opens up a whole new discussion. I voted for Bush twice and I can honestly say that I have not been happy with a lot of things that he has done while in office, the second term mostly but again that is neither here nor there. I am proud to call myself a Christian and Republican and when it comes to elections, for me it usually comes down to voting for one of the lesser evils. I think the difference between a war and abortion is not a good comparison. First of all, unborn children are helpless and cannot speak for themselves. They have a right to be born, grow up and choose a life-maybe to be in the armed forces and fight for our country someday. The brave men and women who fight for us in Iraq made the choice to go into the military and most of them are very proud of their commitment and fight for a greater cause. Lets take Senator McCain for example, he has two children that are about to enter into the war and he can tell you all about his fight for life in Vietnam. He wants to continue the fight and bring our troops home proud and liberate a suppressed country. I think that God would want that. I dont think that we are there fighting for oil, but I know people who do. Regardless there are so many reasons to be there and most of them are going to result in leaving a country in better shape than it was once before.
In regards to gay marriage, let me just start by saying that I have gay and muslim friends and I love them just the same! It is called- love the sinner, hate the sin. Just because I dont agree with the lifestyle doesnt mean that I cannot love that person or be friends with people of different cultures. You are right it is not a Christian attitude not to be friends or have aquaintances with people such as these. I dont think anyone was saying that. However, I am definitely not for letting them have the same status as far as marriage goes! How will I explain that to my little boy, when he sees two men or women who are married and have children just like our family. This is where it does harm to me and my society- when we think that this is OK. Does God see glory in this lifestyle? Definitely NOT! It all comes down to what your values and beliefs are. If you are not a Christian then you probably think all of this is just ubsurd. This country was founded with Christian principles and values and we just want it to stay that way. My open mind begins and ends with a book called "The Bible". This world is and will always be filled with sin. I sin just as everyone else, but I dont think anyone else should condone my sin just as we would be doing if we allowed things like this in our country.
Lindsey, last of all I want to thank you for posting this. I really enjoyed reading the gentlemens (cant remember the name) letter and I think it just goes to show that we still have a lot of people in this country that want to keep the conservative values that it was founded on, no matter what the media or public might portray. I am sure you didnt intend on this becoming a place for us to get on soapbox and argue back and forth. Like I said, I intend on making this my last comment. God Bless!

For those who don't believe in the cruelty of Partial Birth Abortion. Here is the reference supporting the exact description in this post-- Dr. Martin Haskell described the partial-birth abortion procedure, which he called "dilation and extraction,"at a Sept. 1992 meeting of the National Abortion Federation, a trade association of abortion providers. He said he had done 700 of these "procedures." See Martin Haskell, M.D., "Dilation and Extraction for Late Second Trimester Abortion," in "Second Trimester Abortion: From Every Angle," Fall Risk Management Seminar, September 13-14, 1992, Dallas, Texas, National Abortion Federation. See also Diane Gianelli, "Shock-tactic ads target late-term abortion procedure," American Medical News (July 5, 1993), pp. 3, 15-16. See the following website for more information (note: graphic) http://www.nrlc.org/abortion/pba/index.html

And in response to the silly argument that the life of the mother is at risk, there is something called a C-Section. Because of medical technology, babies as young as 21 weeks have been known to survive outside of the womb. There is no reason whatsoever for Partial Birth Abortion other than total irresponsibility.

There is a lot to respond to here, so I’ll have to do this systematically. No one that I have ever heard has said that Obama “wants to go around chopping babies heads.” In many abortion cases, however, that would be the kinder thing to do. As the post clearly shows, abortion is a hideous, barbaric procedure that not only kills the baby, but does so while inflicting as more suffering than we can imagine. Obama has repeatedly said that he does not like abortions. My question to that is why in the world aren’t you doing everything in your power to prevent it? If it’s wrong, end it. Pretty simple. Apparently, over 4000 people a day do want babies to be murdered, otherwise there would not be any abortions.

Perhaps the worst argument I’ve ever heard is “Don’t believe in abortion? Don’t have one.” Let’s look at this for a second. Substitute the word abortion for slavery. “Don’t believe in slavery? Don’t own one.” Do you see how stupid that is? How about this one: “Don’t believe in rape? Don’t do it.” Or “Don’t believe in child abuse? Don’t do it.” Obama and his followers say silly things like this all the time and it goes unchallenged. He has said that answer the question of abortion is above his pay grade. He says that the issue is best left to the woman and her doctor.

Imagine another scenario. Two candidates are vying for the presidency. The issue of child pornography comes up. Candidate 1 says, “I am against child pornography. Anyone who is guilty of this crime should be locked up.” Candidate 2 says, “This is something obviously the country wrestles with. One thing that I’m absolutely convinced of is that there is a moral and ethical element to this issue. But, I am pro-child pornography. I believe there should be laws that allow child pornography, not because I am pro-kiddie porn, but because I don’t think those who do it make the decision casually. They wrestle with these things in profound ways, in consultation with their pastors or their spouses or their doctors or their family members. And so, for me, the goal right now should be — and this is where I think we can find common ground. And by the way, I have asked how do we reduce child pornography? We need to provide the resources that allow these men to make the choice to stop doing it. You know, have we given them the help that they need? Have we given them the support services that they need? Have we given them the options that are necessary? That can make a genuine difference.” After hearing that, what would your reaction be? Outrage? Anger? Disdain? Mine sure would be. That candidate would be laughed off the stage and never be allowed to show his face in public again, let alone be elected president. You know who said that? The next president of the United States, Barrack Obama during a forum at Saddleback Church…except the issue wasn’t child pornography, it was abortion.

You make it seem as if we are going in to Iraq slaughtering innocent people. Well, that’s what MSNBC want you to think. What do the Iraqis really think of US forces? Ask a soldier. They overwhelmingly thank us for what we’ve done to free them from a murderous dictator. A life under tyranny or a life of freedom and opportunity? It may not be nice right now, but neither was the United States in the 1770’s. Revolutions are always painful early on. I do not mean to be rude, but was the comment about “sending thousands of soldiers to Iraq to be killed for no reason” serious? Maybe you need to reword that statement because, as it stands, it is ridiculous.

Regarding gay marriage…God is against it. So am I. The Bible is clear about homosexuality. It is a sin and a culture that allows it deserves to be judged. Even if we were to take the Bible out of the equation, gay people have the exact same rights that I have as a straight person. I cannot marry a man, neither can they. I am allowed to marry a woman, so can they.

I wonder if the "pro-choice" bloggers would feel the same if this procedure were performed on animals-horses.dog,and cats?
The mother's life is or isn't at stake. PETA would be all over that and we would here of nothing eles.
Let's give unborn children the same chances.

This country was founded on the emphasis that we as people should have freedom of Religion. So you people that are talking about people needing to be more Christian-like and follow his ways, that's not what America was founded on. If that's the case, the pilgrims should've stayed in Europe. I'm a Christian myself, but I do not expect everyone to be Christian. America was not only established for the Freedom of Religion, but also general civil rights. So what makes you all better than Sadaam Hussein or Fidel Castro in thinking that taking away people's Human and Civil Rights will make this world a better place? People fought for these rights and if they're stripped from them, they will fight for them again. Either way, the people win! As far as abortion, I neither agree or disagree with it. I don't feel that people should use it as a form of birth control, but I do feel that if it's necessary that it's their choice. How would you feel if someone came to you and said that they don't like the way you raise your children so they literally made you get a vasectomy or your tubes tied when your plans were to have more children? How violated would you feel? For one, your Human and Civil Rights have been violated. For two, it is your choice as to how you raise your children. This is all about Freedom of Choice, freedom to have abortions, freedom to have babies, freedom to practice (or not) any religion that you feel. America is already turning into a dictatorship without you all trying to strip everyone of their own personal beliefs. Another point, What does any of these issues have to do with you? Same-sex marriage, abortion, religion, just to name a few. Do the choices these people make in their OWN lives affect you? Did you quit breathing yesterday, because someone went and had and abortion yesterday morning? Did you lose your house because someone didn't put money in an offering plate? No, your lives are not affected by what other people do with theirs. If you want to get down to the nitty-gritty about God and Christianity...here goes!! God gave people the knowledge to know the difference between right and wrong. As long as YOU know the difference you have nothing to worry about. YOU follow his commands and let him deal with the ones who don't. God also said, not to judge others, that's his job so let him do his job. God punishes those who do not abide by his commands. So the people who do not worship him, the people who are having abortions, and the people who are out here killing others, God will take care of them. You need to worry about yourselves. There are more things that are wrong with this country other than who's getting rid of their baby. It's their baby and their body...SO WHAT? Let's think about the economy and how poorly it's doing. Stop blaming people and fix it! It doesn't matter if the Democrats did it or if George Bush did...the issue still stands. Instead of placing blame you need to be electing someone who's going to fix it for us. I know ALL of you all have complained about gas prices...lets get someone in there to fix it. I'm tired of paying between 3-5 bucks for a gallon of gas. We have bigger problems than people trying to take away Human Rights because they "don't believe it's right" What you believe is not what everyone believes and until you all learn that you're going to have some serious issues coming to you in life. I'm African Methodist Episcopalian, and we don't believe the same as Baptists or Catholics, does that make me wrong? Yeah, we are all Christians, but my beliefs are different, so my voice shouldn't be heard because my denomination is different from yours? That's what you all are basically saying, think and live like you!! If I don't, I have no voice. Come on people, live your own lives. If you sat and worried about what people do, you would never accomplish anything in life. You all know that Obama is the better candidate. If you all listened, Obama is against abortion too, he's not condoning the behavior, but only sparing what people have fought for for decades. This is a Democratic Republic, not a dictatorship (although, that's what you all would like), our rights should remain as they are and NO ONE has the right to take that away from us.

I find it funny that everyone who disagrees with you only posts as "anonymous."

No joke Kelly!! If you are such an Obama supporter, then why don't you let the whole world know it! I support McCain and will tell anyone. God Bless America!! Please don't make anymore comments if you don't want people to even know who you are. Because it looks right now as if YOU know Obama is NOT the right candidate!

I am speaking from experience... both me and my child were at risk of dying when I was pregnant. My daughter was taken by emergency C-Section at 30 weeks. Going into the opereating room the doctor was told to save my child and worry about me last (by me). No one can tell me that she was not alive before she came out of me. God had his hand on me and my daughter the whole entire time. That 30 week old baby came out breathing on her own and never had to be ventilated. She came home a month earlier than expected. Only God has the power to decide when someone goes to be with him. That power should not be put into the hands of anyone else. My daughter was also born out of wed-lock and her father and I were not together at the time of her birth and are still not. Not once did anyone even say that I should abord her just because I was not married. I am sure that people looked down on me but the way I see it is that is between me and God. I chose to bring that child into this world and I would not take anything in for her. She is a blessing. God had a hand in creating her.

I'm Brittony Wester and from Roane County, and you probably know me. I was blogging under my cousin's name because she showed me this blog page. I wanted to comment, so I used anonymous so that it wouldn't look like she was the one posting the comments. I'm the very last anonymous on the page so far. I am the one voting for the best candidate Obama, I'm the one (the only one on this page) who values my liberty. That's me!

Yeah well, this idiot is a semester away from finishing her Bachelors in Political Science and Psychology. After that I'm on my way to Howard Law School. So, anonymous, if you're from Roane County you're probably still there and will never leave.

You're not an idiot...just someone who rambles on and on and on without any semblence of reason or organization. Plus, your points are ridiculous. Other than that, you're ok.

Every single word of my argument had a purpose and a meaning and just because you don't agree you want to insult someone...wow!! and i have not yet seen a valid argument as to why you all are voting for McCain. Being anti-abortion doesn't constitute a legitimate reason or a strong argument as to why McCain is the better candidate. That's what closed minds and the lack of pride in your country will do for us, have someone running the country who doesn't amount to anything and has no significance in the lives of those of us who value our lives and the respect that we are guaranteed by the US Constitution. I'm voting for the one who is going to protect my rights as a woman, an african american and as a human being. if you want someone to take that away from you that's all on you. We will see tonight who the best person to run this country is. God Bless you!

Correction...we will see tonight the man who has been able to dupe the country with his charisma and smooth talk. Obama is nothing more than a celebrity created by the media and accepted by a society of illiterates who would rather worship a community organizer than the Savior. Celebrity is valued so much more than what is right and correct in our lost society.

Can you tell me anything that Obama has ever done? The most important thing he's ever done is stapling signs to lightposts in Chicago.

As for abortion being my only issue, it is. Imagine a candidate who you agree with on everything, except one issue. That issue is slavery. This candidate wants to reinstitute (legally, of course) slavery. Would that rule him out? If you answer yes, then you have just admitted that one can be a one issue voter.

Protecting womens rights? What about the rights of the unborn? According to the Bible, they are humans created in the image of God. According to God's Word, abortion equals murder. Either God is wrong or you are. I prefer the Creator of the universe over an idealistic pre-law student who, like the candidate you adore, hasn't really done much. You should thank your mother that she was prolife.

You're going to a liberal institution and you're young. We cannot expect you to know any better. I said/did/believed a lot of dumb things when I was in your position. Once you get out of your educational bubble and into the real world where life is life and taxes can cripple you, you'll see things in a different light.

Yes, I'm a very liberal person. And while you're asking me what Obama has done...ask the American people who agreed with me and not you what he's done and is going to do. It's time for a change and that change is going to come. And we all are going to reap the benefits. I'm not worried about being taxed, whatever I have to do help this economy get back on its feet is what I will do to show that I'm proud to be an American. Also, what has McCain done other than embarrass himself by bringing good ol' Sarah Palin into the spotlight to try and take over something she knows nothing about? As far as Christianity, as I said before, it's not about that. I live by MY Christian morals and values. I don't expect everyone in this world to feel and live the same as I do. I also have two children whom I love and can't imagine my life without. I'm 22 years old and too young to be somebody's mama, but I am and very proud of that. Although, I was too young to have children, knowing that the option was out there I didn't use that method to prevent my life from changing in the most dramatic way. You are taking what I am saying and turning it into ungodliness. I'm saying that it's people's choice as to what they want to do with their lives. No one but God has the right to tell them how to live. It's God's job to chastise those who don't follow his word. In the end He will punish them so much worse than any human being could ever do. Question...there are millions of women out here who have children, and cannot by any means take care of them...are you willing to take in all these millions of children and provide for them in order to protect them? And slavery will never happen again, legally. That will never be an issue again. It's not about being young, it's about having respect for people's autonomy. I'm not closed-minded. I don't care what people do with their lives, because it doesn't affect me. I live mine the way I choose and expect people to respect that, they don't have to agree. You also live your life the way you choose and will not stand for someone (a human being) to tell you otherwise. I know how tough it is out there and it's not going to get easier. You just better be glad that America has elected someone who is going to help you keep what you do have and strive to give you more.
