random cuteness

Griffin is camera shy... as I am sure you guys have guessed by now. So anytime someone gets out their camera phone he whips out his CHEESE!

Tonight in JR's office, he decided to go over and get his cowboy hat from VBS this summer. He normally doesnt like to wear hats but was in rare form tonight and thought he was so funny :)

Ugh!

Well its 1:17am and I am still up. Between the heartburn I have had all day, the metallic taste I have tasted for the first time since being pregnant AND Carter's first set of non-stop hiccups... I simply cannot sleep! UGH!!!

Oh well... I'm catching up on blogging at least :)

Shutterfly Christmas Cards

I truly love this time of year! The leaves have all turned beautiful colors, the weather is cooler and thoughts of Christmas is all around! And of course I'm already thinking about Christmas cards this holiday season and have found some of the best on Shutterfly! I truly LOVE Shutterfly. They have the greatest picture gifts and I always enjoy giving and receiving personalized things with pictures than anything else!

It is going to be such a hard decision between so many that I love!

First there is this classic, one picture, very pretty: http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/cards-stationery/retro-snowflake-bursts-christmas-5x7-photo-card-5x7-photo?sortType=1&storeNode=93480

Love how they added the initial too! http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery/cards-stationery/o-mod-tannenbaum-christmas-5x7-photo-card-5x7-photo?sortType=1&storeNode=93480

We were so fortunate to have our sweet friend Christina offer to take some family pictures for us, both for Christmas cards and maternity for Carter. I love how they turned out! Here are some of my favorites :)

Very eventful day!

We started our very eventful Saturday with our 2nd Duke game of the season!

We were excited to have our friends Brian and Laura join us with their 3 girls!

Laura and cutie Whitney

Sad they lost but it was still a wonderful day of college football! Griffin learned a new word "devil" this game... and now he says it all the time. We have to remind him its "blue devil" ha.. nothing like the pastor's child being obsessed with the devil :)

Dads and their kiddos

Then we made our way to Griffin's friend Lauren's birthday party at jumping beans.

Griffin had fun.. and Daddy did too!

sliiiiide!

Last but not least we celebrated with the newly engaged couple for dinner! Jordan proposed to Meredith and we couldnt be more happy for them :)

Love you sweet friend and am very excited for you!!!

Lots to chew on...

When trying to chew on all of the information that was thrown at us at the convention these last few days, I had a heavy heart to share. It is one thing to hear the Word of God, it is another thing to actually meditate on it and apply it to your life and even a further thing to then share it with others. I am by no means a biblical scholar, but I sincerely love the richness of the messages that were given by such godly men.

Here are some thoughts to ponder, very generally summarized:
- we will not be judged by how we arrive, but instead how we depart.... how will my life be summarized at my funeral?
- in Acts 20:17-38, Paul was disliked by many, opposed by most and people even wanted to physically harm him; however he was committed to the Word of God and "considered his life worth nothing"-vs. 24. He simply wanted to be a good son for God. -do I consider my life worth nothing compared to my love for God? am I willing to be disliked by people in order to stand on the truths that I believe?
- James 4:17 "Therefore to anyone who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin." This verse truly hit me HARD in many different ways!
-If we truly believe God is in control, then when we make plans we leave room for Him to interrupt them.
-There are 4 things we can do with God's will: 1. defy it by ignoring it 2. deny it by knowing its true but rejecting it 3. disobey it 4. delight in God's will
- If someone says, "I am not into missions" we should ask, "Since when did it become the Great Option?" Instead it is God's Great Commission to us that we should share the gospel with all nations, NOT an option.
-Discipleship: many encouragements in this area am much conviction in this area because I am neither getting discipled currently nor am I pouring discipleship into someone else... MUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT SOON!

I do truly want my life to matter. I want to have an impact for the kingdom of God. I know that I should share His good news and yet I find every excuse not to. I am so tired of the excuses and letting myself believe the lie that I cannot do it. "Therefore to anyone who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin." James 4:17... so everytime I do not trust God, actively pursue Him, share His good news with others, make it a priority to share with the nations, or simply am just lazy and let the excuses take over me... I am committing a sin against my God! Man, how many times a day does that happen? Praise the Lord for His grace, mercy and love for me, that no matter what I do, He loves me anyways. But what kind of daughter am I to knowingly do this every single day?

I would love nothing more than my life to be summarized at my funeral as saying, "She loved Jesus, she grew in Him, and she shared His love with all people."

What will your dash look like?

Our life is but a vapor! Dont waste it!!!

Kicking off!

So sad this is coming up sideways but hopefully you can still see our little man and his kick off skills :)

** Notice the following:

1. he puts his little finger in the air before he starts

2. he makes a fake whistle noise to let him know when to go

3. he loves to cheer for himself!

26 week and stomach bug!

UGH! That about describes pregnancy for me this week... and hence why you need to excuse the terrible picture! I just about didnt post it but then I was like.. well ya know, this is the real me- not always glamourous ha! I caught what must be the stomach bug while at the convention this week and am better but still recovering. I have definitely decided it is not good to have both crazy stuff going on with your stomach AND a baby boy kicking you like crazy! It definitely made it worse, this being the first real time I have been sick while pregnant. Very blessed to know that he is okay in there though... still doing everything he can to let me know he is there :)

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take two to three days.

NC Baptist State Convention

We had the opportunity to represent our church at the NC Baptist State Convention and headed to Greensboro from Monday-Wednesday of this week. It was such a blessing to get to hear from other churches across the state and be challenged greatly! I specifically enjoyed getting to know some members of our church family more!
(Sorry for the blurry picture.. definitely going to have to invest in a new camera!)

We were so thankful to have Cici come and watch Griffin for us while we were gone. There was no way an 18 month old was going to make it through all of the sitting we did ha! They had such a great time together- playing cars, ball and who knows what else :) Thank you Cici!!

It was nice to get away and have some adult time but we sure missed this little boy's face!!!
