For those that do not know my husband personally, I can tell you that when he is determined to do something, he is dedicated to get it done! Well the hopes of one day running a full marathon have now happened! He and his friend Shawn ran the Knoxville Covenant Race today and did awesome!
Funny story about the spectator wife: I was trying to get to a parking spot to jump out and see them on mile 3. Well I was one street away when the police stopped me and I realized I was being stopped by THE race. So I rolled down my window and before long we found them!
The boys were so proud! Carter carried around his “cheerleaders” and often broke into Rocky Top while cheering!
Griffin thought it was awesome that his Daddy was racing and said, “He Carter, I bet Daddy is going to win!”
Our sweet friends, Cassie and Chris joined us (along with their Carter) to cheer them on.
Here they come at mile 11!
It was a gorgeous day and the Carters had fun at each stop while waiting to see them. Thumbs up!
Mile 19 and he was still a smiling!
Come and GONE! Up the hill he goes
And the glorious finish line! He did it!!!
Telling Daddy how proud they were of him
I love our marathon man… he is incredible!!! Having ran the 1/2 marathon myself, I know what a feat it is to run 26.2. Bless him all he could say when he was done was, “Man that was a LONG way!”
