VDiddy and Susu visit!

We had some special visitors this weekend and were so excited! VDiddy and Susu came to hang out with us and it couldnt have been a better weekend... well only if it was a few days longer! Griffin started calling Susu and "Diddy" by name this time and it was precious!! The weather was awesome so we enjoyed lots of outside time. Griffin loved introducing them to Big Red.

We went to the playground too and had fun on the slides

Griffin showing off that he can slide by himself!

After getting let down by the UT football game, we decided to go back outside and enjoy another Fall favorite spot- Hill Ridge Farms.

There were TONS of people there so we stuck to the things that didnt have the long lines. That didnt stop the boys from playing in the fort.

I cant believe how much he has grown since last year when we went!

Anytime Griffin hears music he thinks he needs to dance so he showed off his moves while we waited for the hayride ha!

love this pic!

Mesmerized by the tractor that was pulling us.

family shot at the pumpkin patch

Priceless face.. he couldnt get over how many "punkins" there were!

But when he found his favorite one he was sure to hang on to it and cheese for the camera!

We went to dinner and then came back to play some more at the house. Griffin loved to "get Diddy".

and he loved it even more when Susu got him!

Thank yall for a wonderful visit! We loved having you and cant wait to see you again soon :)

Loving some October!

Sorry I have been MIA lately.. our home internet has been down and so therefore no blogging for me! I am so excited it is finally October though with the cooler temperatures and all of the other fun things fall brings! Yesterday Griffin and I both put on our sweatshirts and loved being cozy! This picture cracks me up of him. First of all he is just a big CHEESE ha! Also, the sweatshirt, which he is thrilled over since it has a ball on it, those chubby little legs and the fact that he reads himself books these days!
Last week brought nothing but rain to us, so we enjoyed days inside playing. Jonathan came over on Friday to hang out and I always love capturing pictures of these two buddies together.

taking a ride on the giraffe

and sharing secrets with each other :)

Saturday mornings are Griffin and Daddy make pancakes day!

Griffin is always thrilled when Daddy sets him on the counter so he can help. Love that excitement on his face!

We also straightened up the garage and found Griffin's tricycle so Daddy put it together and he loved it. He calls is his bike and although he cant pedal just yet, he loves climbing on it.

We have been getting things to put in Griffin's big boy room and of course you would guess he wanted anything with "BALLS!" I found this rug on clearance at Target and thought it was perfect. Here he is seeing it for the first time!

And I kid you not, he went back and forth for about 10 minutes pointing to all the balls :) Needless to say I think he approved!

Speaking of balls, the other night when I was making dinner I let Griffin go out on our screened in porch to play. The next thing I knew, he had taken all his balls outside and displayed them on this bookshelf. Never did I mention to do this or had he seen us do it before... he came up with it totally on his own!! He is definitely proud of his prized possessions!

Our Sunday School theme for this week was "Jesus is my hero." Here are some of the boys and G wearing their tshirts. He still LOVES being in the big boy class by the way. He plays and plays and doesnt even cry when I leave!

And last but not least here is Mr. Cool Dude. He was sporting Ashley's sunglasses when we went to pick him up from the James family household after our date night.
Oh that boy :)

20 weeks

We are halfway there! Today he is 20 weeks along and growing bigger and bigger! I was so excited that JR finally felt him move for the first time last night and we also could see my belly jump. Just more proof that he is getting big and VERY active :) This picture was taken in Cades Cove on our anniversary trip. Still feeling great and very blessed for a wonderful pregnancy!
Your baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. He's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel — the length of a banana. (For the first 20 weeks, when a baby's legs are curled up against his torso and hard to measure, measurements are taken from the top of his head to his bottom — the "crown to rump" measurement. After 20 weeks, he's measured from head to toe.)He's swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

12 years ago today....

I became JR's "girlfriend"
It seems like yesterday at times but at others more like a lifetime ago
so thankful for our last 12 years :)

4th anniversary getaway!

We wanted to have a little getaway for our anniversary as a family so we packed up and headed to Asheville Thursday morning. We got there shortly after lunch and decided to walk around downtown Black Mountain. It was a quaint little town and had lots of fun shops. We had lunch and then headed to downtown Asheville to see what it had to offer. Not really our cup of tea so we got back on the road and drove down the Blue Ridge Parkway. One of the main reasons we headed to western NC was for the mountains! Griffin had never seen them before and just oooed and ahhhed :)
We had our anniversary dinner at PF Changs. It was a beautiful night so we sat outside and literally stuffed ourselves! It was perfect.

Friday morning we got up and headed to the outlet malls of Pigeon Forge. We shopped mainly for the boys and Griffin enjoyed picking out things for Carter :)

We tried to convince him to get a new hat but he just cant stand to keep them on his head these days!

After an early yet amazing dinner at Longhorn, we drove to Cades Cove. This is one of JR and I's favorite places and we used to frequent there back in high school while dating. It is simply beautiful! We stopped and let Griffin see the horses first....

he was not scared!

We went to a spot we had enjoyed before and put a blanket out to soak up the scenery and watch the sunset.

We took full advantage of the beautiful background and had a mini photo shoot!
