Griffin in 4D!!

Griffin is now the new model child for the 4D ultrasound place! He did so awesome and the lady couldnt get over how active and good he was :) JR and I loved it so much and just laughed the entire time. He was Mr. Personality showing us many faces and moving around like crazy. It was so amazing to see his sweet little face and now it makes us even more anxious for April!!!!!

Here are some of our favorites. If you want to see all the pictures you can go here.

all smiles

check out my guns!

such a serious face

a little smashed in there!

picking nose with my toes

nice big lips :)

another little grin

after 3o minutes of moving around like crazy he was all tuckered out in the end and fell right to sleep!

"Eating Face"

I now have a whole new appreciation for the phrase "Eating Face." I just received these pictures from JR's brother JC from Christmas time. My nephew Tristan has an obsession with my face.. so much so that EVERY time I get down to talk to him he goes right after my nose/mouth. He already knows how to kiss with tongue... and extra slobber ha! Oh I love it :)

Week 29

Here we are 11 weeks away! My update says that Griffin is busy growing a TON and the picture also shows how cramped he is getting inside there. I can definitely tell that both of these are true as well because if I sit or lay a certain way, he will let me know that I am not giving him his space ha! JR told me this morning that he woke up last night and felt him rolling over and over in my belly... he is a busy bee! I am still feeling good enough to walk every morning but can tell through different things that I am getting more out of breath at times. Dont worry though.. I am not pushing the limits but instead just doing as much as I can right now.

We are so excited about our 4D ultrasound that is TOMORROW!!! I cannot wait to see what our little man looks like :)

Your baby is growing rapidly now. This week he weighs about half a pound more than he did last week (about 2 1/2 pounds total) and is a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and his head is getting bigger to accommodate his growing brain — which is busy developing billions of neurons. Every day, about 200 milligrams of calcium is deposited in your baby's skeleton, which is now hardening. With this rapid growth, it's no surprise that your baby's nutritional needs reach their peak during this trimester.

Oh the Wondrous Cross

Today I experienced one of the sweetest moments in seminary for myself thus far. I have had the priviledge of auditing a class this semester since I am no longer working during the days. JR and I are in this class together and it was something we looked forward to even when we first got on campus. The class itself is amazing in itself, simply because the professor has an amazing way of helping his students to see Scripture the way the God intented for us to understand it. Today's topic was a hard one to hear from most of us, as it would be for anyone in today's world: Divorce and Remarriage. The first 2 hours we spent diving into the Scriptures about what God has to say on these topics. I could go on and on about what I learned in that very short time that I had NEVER been shown before. However, instead I wanted to share the sweet moment we had in class as a female student shared her story. She explained that she had been through 2 divorces herself and just wandered if there was ever a point where she had just completely messed up too much with the whole marriage thing? As I watched the professor get tears in his eyes, he explained to this lady that yes in fact she had messed it up about as good as anyone could. "However," he said.... imagine how much more glorious that makes the cross for each of us. No matter how bad she had messed up, God's grace and forgiveness at the Cross covered that, and the same for each and every one of us. He then stoppped class and asked the ladies to gather around her for prayer, along with the entire class. We sat and as most of our classmates were getting emotional at this time, simply cried out to God and thanked Him for His mercy. As I looked up I then too saw our professor down on his knees praying to God with tears rolling down his face. As I continued to feel chills all over me, I then heard someone start singing "It is well" and soon after the entire class had followed along. This is how we ended our class time together.

How thankful I am for a time such as this where a professor can point us the Cross above all things and remind us how glorious it is... no matter what we have done. At times I have been disappointed while in seminary life, because it seemed only educational and not a matter of heart. This is a day I will never forget.

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,When sorrows like sea billows roll;Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,It is well, it is well, with my soul.
It is well, with my soul,It is well, with my soul,It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,Let this blessed assurance control,That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
It is well, with my soul,It is well, with my soul,It is well, it is well, with my soul.
My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole,Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
It is well, with my soul,It is well, with my soul,It is well, it is well, with my soul.
And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,The clouds be rolled back as a scroll; The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,Even so, it is well with my soul.
It is well, with my soul,It is well, with my soul,It is well, it is well, with my soul.

Sis Time

This weekend we had the best time visiting with a friend who is just like family to us. Liz decided to surprise JR for his birthday and flew up from Nashville. She got him really good by jumping out of his closet on Friday after work so make sure to check out the video. Liz or "Sis" as we call her, is one of those friends that even though we had not seen her in person since Thanksgiving 2007, we can always pick up right where we left off. Not to mention I talk to her via text just about every other day or so and we often spend hours catching up on the phone. We all meet her at MDA camp, where all 4 of us were counselors back in the day. Our friendships have continued to grow over the years and we love her so very much!

We didnt do a whole lot this weekend, but just relaxing and being able to hang out with her was enough. We love you Sis and hope you will come back soon!

Arent these shirts the cutest that she brought Griffin? I know he will wear the blue one just about every day :)

Crafting frenzy

I had the chance to complete some crafting yesterday and it felt so good to be at it again :)
Here are the growth charts for Griffin and my nephew Tristan. I got this idea from the craft sale in the fall and it was super easy! It fits perfectly in Griffin's room and I cant wait to watch him grow :)
I finally got the chance to do some burp clothes for Griffin. If you have followed my blog at all you know that I have always enjoyed doing these for other people and so of course I had to do some for my own son. Sadly I am just now getting around to it.. but nonetheless its a start. I plan to do many more between now and April!

I also finished an order for Ashley. Thanks for your order.. I love doing girl's things still too :)

Best time for an ultrasound?

Alright other moms or pregnant friends... help me out! We are going to do a 4D ultrasound of Griffin, courtesy of his Cici, and I am trying to decide when the best time to do it will be. Right now I have it scheduled for 32 weeks, however I wanted to make sure that he wont be too smashed in there at that point. I asked the guy when I booked it and he didnt seem to have a true answer, but instead said just as long as its before 36 weeks.

What have been your experiences? I want him to have some meat on his bones of course but more importantly would like to be able to see his face before he grows to much and becomes smushed :)
