Good ole RockVegas

While visiting Katie this weekend, she helped spark a creative fuse by showing me her "hometown collage" that she had made for her husband Josh. She is from Shelbyville, which is the Walking Horse and Pencil capital of the world. It is such a cute small town and if any of you know Miranda Lambert's song "Small Town", that music video is filmed in Shelbyville. Anyways that just shows that it is a cool small town, unlike Rockwood. With all of that said, I was determined to take shots of it anyways so that I could create my own version of this.....

Here is my best attempt at taking "neat" pictures of Rockwood. It is really hard to make it look cool ha :)

If any of you other Rockwoodians can think of any other places I should go and take a picture of just let me know. And here is the funny picture I took of "Shacks" the infamous Rockwood restaurant... that somehow lost its "S" HAHAH

And to finish off a great day in Rockwood, I had to end the afternoon at my favorite place to eat with my favorite two girls. JD, Jessica and I gathered at the Cracker Barrel to catch up and just as usual it was as if we had not skipped a beat. Love you girls!

Shopping with the girls!

Saturday, Mom, Rachel and I went down to Chattanooga to see Katie and her new home for a day of SHOPPING!!! We had such a great day getting ideas for decor for our new homes from Mrs. Martha Stewart herself (my mom). We pretty much shopped all day till we about dropped. We got so much stuff that we ourselves could barely fit back in the car haha! Then we went back to her new home and played with her little dog, Joe. He is too cute :) Thanks for a great day girls.. Love you!

Was that a challenge?

Was that a challenge? Yes it was. On the way back home from the football game Friday I got a text message from my brother telling me that he was working down at the bowling alley and if i dared to come down there, he would show me the "King Pin" he has become since working there. His place of work is called the Down Under and it is located on UT campus in the Student Center. I of course WAS up for that challenge and really wanted to see him so I went... and I WON! Hehehe it was hilarious because he was so shocked that I had not played in 2 years and I could just walk out there and beat him, who plays every weekend when he is working :) He said, "Oh its just the wax on the floor.... I have perfect spin but since that is messed up it is rhythm."

Go Govs Go!

Friday night I made it home in time for my Uncle Scott's 1st round playoff game at William Blount. They played Campbell County and won 28-0 so that was awesome! I will have to say I definitely miss the high school days of getting ready for that big game all week and just the atmosphere that is there. I must also say that if you are ever coaching or playing you definitely want my Mimi on your side :) I had watched games with her in the past but it had been awhile so I had forgotten how intense she gets haha!!! Check out the video below... and I could have put it on here about 1,000,000,000 times because that is about how many times I heard it in the one game I was there!!! :)

IT IS COLD!!!

I dont know about you guys but I am not really liking this COLD weather. I got up this morning and it was 34 degrees.. what in the world! Todays high in Wake Forest was only 51, man that is crazy :) I guess it is time to pull out all of the winter stuff now huh? It really makes me sad that my favorite season of all has now turned into like 3 weeks. I want Fall back please!

This weekend my mom and I are driving down to Chattanooga to see Katie's new house! I am so excited.. and even get to leave work a little early tomorrow so YAY! Pray for safe travels please.. its just me and the road for 9 hours :( I am glad I get to go now though because next week I will be a momma to new puppies and wont be able to leave the house!!!

Speaking of... I hope all of you mom's out there can answer me a question. Today my friends Patrick and Ann came in to see me and show off their new baby girl, who is so cute by the way. They both kept talking about how little sleep that they have gotten in the past 3 weeks that she has been here. Now I LOVE my sleep (just ask JR ha!) Whatever am I going to do? I am hoping it is one of those mommy things that just kindof becomes instinct, because at this point I cant imagine surviving off of 3 hours of sleep. Last night I didnt go to bed till 1230 because I was visiting with Crystal who was in town with work for the night. This morning you would have thought I got ran over or something ha! Just getting 6 hours was not good for me... this girl needs at LEAST 8!! I will be an okay mom though right? Ha this sounds crazy but I am worried :)

Our very own photo shoot

My very talented friend Leigh is my beautician, ever so organized and "the" event planner at work, can sing and play the piano like a real rockstar... AND she does photography! Oh how thankful I am to have such a friend as her :) This weekend she offered her services of photography to us and we are so grateful! She did amazing and JR was such a trooper. I really LOVE pictures (if you cannot tell that by now you are missing the whole point of my blog ha) and I had thought that I would never get another photo shoot again now that wedding festivities are over... but just lets just say I am a lucky woman! I am really happy with how they turned out and each of you will probably be seeing them again soon in Christmas cards :)

Where there is football..

I will find it :) This weekend was the Southeastern Flag Football Intramural Championship. You know I love football and I also enjoy cheering on my friends so it was a great time for both. The weather was beautiful and the team in orange came out with the victory.. always good when the orange team wins ha! Congrats guys!!
Hope, Christine and I

Boy weekend

This past weekend JR, my dad and my brother Mason went on an adventure in the Smokey's. Despite them coming out of the mountains a little earlier than they expected.. they had a wonderful time of male bonding :) According to professional hiker and close friend of ours, Steve Graham, it seems that Dad and Mason were given their trail names on this first trip together: Dad {Indiana Jones } and Mason { Tiger } . I will definitely have to get the stories on those names from {Uno} aka JR ha! Glad you boys had fun :)

Cutest Costume Award

Last night JR and I had an enjoyable night of sitting on the front porch in our rocking chairs and handing out candy to all of the little kiddos. We had many come by and it was so fun to see all of their costumes. We had everything from princesses, cheerleaders, and Little Red Riding Hood to power rangers, hulk, and scooby doo. I will have to say that hands down the cutest costume I got to see in person yesterday was Miss Chloe Bible. Is she not the cutest?!?!

Stay tuned for pictures of my mom who decided to go all out this year and dress up for the 100's of kids who come through her neighborhood. Her comment to me was, "Well I dont have anyone to dress up anymore.. so now I just have to dress up myself." Gotta love Cathy :)
