Alright other moms or pregnant friends... help me out! We are going to do a 4D ultrasound of Griffin, courtesy of his Cici, and I am trying to decide when the best time to do it will be. Right now I have it scheduled for 32 weeks, however I wanted to make sure that he wont be too smashed in there at that point. I asked the guy when I booked it and he didnt seem to have a true answer, but instead said just as long as its before 36 weeks.
What have been your experiences? I want him to have some meat on his bones of course but more importantly would like to be able to see his face before he grows to much and becomes smushed :)

Anytime between 28-30 weeks you will see a smashed in there baby with little detail waiting! They are pretty amazing! You will love it and cherish the color photos they give you. I know I did!
I dont know about the 4D ultrasound, but when I scheduled one of my regular ultrasounds they told me after 20 weeks but before 30. I am not a good judge of this though because I never had one of these! Sounds like fun and so nice of his Cici to do that for you guys!
okay so i'm not preggers (unless you count the child i immaculately concepted during the john legend concert monday night (haha)) BUT a google search led me to these answers for you:

<2> "Most 3D/4D ultrasounds are done between 24 and 34 weeks. Prior to 24 weeks, babies have not started putting on brown fat so they won’t have the “Gerber Baby” look. Around 27 to 28 weeks is usually considered the ideal time, because the baby does have some fat and still has plenty of room to move. After 34 weeks, the baby begins to get a little squished and may be facing the spine, which is the position for birth."
I can't remember when I had my 3D/4D ultrasound done but I know that when my parents came to stay with me I was in my 7th month and that was my surprise for them. You will so love the pictures and if you can get a dvd of all they do so that you will have it to keep.
When we had Ella Claire's at 28 weeks I thought it was perfect. She already had a little fat and her features were fully formed. I have to say, when we had another
4D at 34 weeks, she was really cramped and we couldn't see her face very well.
I did not have a 4D ultrasound, but I think the sooner you have it, the better. Once you hit about 32 weeks Griffin will start to just pack on 'fat' and will be smooshed:-) Can't wait to see the pictures once you have them!
Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure Parker's was 28 weeks too and hers was awesome also:)
