I am thrilled to finally have an advent calendar! I love to count down to Christmas and even more so love the idea of creating family memories the entire month! I also am incorporating Random Acts of Christmas Kindness (RACK’ed) along the way that I saw from this blog.
After searching around for the perfect one I was simply not okay with paying as much as they were so I decided to make my own! Hobby Lobby supplied the sacks and I covered them with scrapbook paper and added the numbers via my cricut.
Each day we will have an activity to do together and here is our list:
1. go to the Christmas parade
2. Have a Christmas sweater party with friends
3. send cards to friends who are mourning the loss of a child
4. Give a treat and note for mailman (RACK’d)
5. Take a treat for librarian (RACK’d)
6. Make a gingerbread house
7. Family day at Dollywood
8. Christmas with family in Alabama
9. make presents for grandparents
10. Take treats to the post office workers (RACK’d)
11. Take sonic drinks to friends (RACK’d)
12. Take treats to the grocery workers (RACK’d)
13. Christmas movie night
14. make Christmas cookies
15. wrap Christmas presents
16. color in Christmas coloring book
17. visit the nursing home and take treats (RACK’d)
18. bring gifts for teachers at school
19. tape quarters to vending machine (RACK’d)
20. Christmas movie night
21 drive around and look at Christmas lights
22 Christmas with family at Mimi's
23 Christmas family movie night
24 Christmas services at church
25 Happy birthday Jesus!
We love family movie nights can you tell? And of course I tried to plan events that I knew would be happening along the way too. I will be documenting all along the way and hope to share the highlights with you too.
