Weekend with Amy and Jackson

We were so excited to get to spend a weekend with our sweet friends Amy and Jackson this past weekend. They are our dearest friends that we met at seminary and when they moved back to TN it was very sad for us... so we were so grateful for more time together.

Griffin scoped out his new domain and found a new favorite hiding place behind the curtains. Here he is saying, "BOO!" It was so fun to watch the boys chase each other in and out of these saying boo boo boo to each other :)

Uncle JR had to get in some good rough and tough boy time with Jack.. it had been awhile!

They both are very into books these days so JR loved being able to read to them.

bath time in Granna's giant tub!

Griffin felt like he was in heaven with all the bubbles

Jack's favorite a part was to dump water on Griffin's head ha!

We headed to the splashpad Friday so the boys could enjoy the water. It was so hot that they were glad to be in it... Daddy included!

Griffin had a blast running through all of the sprinklers. I love watching his face!

It was Jack's first time at a splashpad so it took him a little longer to jump in. He was so funny standing on the side taking it all in!

JR decided he would get them both and let them experience.....

a BIG splash together :)

having a snack while learning how to share the grapes-tough lesson to learn!

I love you my friend! SO thankful we can always pick up where we left off. We had so much fun!!!

16 weeks

16 weeks is already here and that just seems crazy to me. The plus side of chasing around a toddler this pregnancy is that I dont have time to and think about it all the time like I did with Griffin, and thus it is going by FAST! I'm feeling great and belly continues to pop. This is quiet the active baby I can tell you that- it has been moving like crazy!!

We are hoping that in 2 weeks we will know pink or blue! We have our first doctor's appointment with our new doctors so please pray for us. We were very spoiled by Dr. Holton, who delivered Griffin, but he is sadly no longer delivering so we had to find a new practice.

Our little avocado is growing his fingernails :) Check out the update!

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

The day that changed our lives forever....

Today mark the 2 year anniversary to the day we found out we were going to have a baby, August 14, 2008. I would never guess that two years later we could love someone the way we do now. When I watch this video, I can not doubt that we knew a lot would change, however we honestly had no clue! The excitement was overwelming to find out we would be parents... but what did being parents really mean?

We of course do not know everything when it comes to being parents, but we now understand that immediate, unconditioanly love. Ah.... these past 2 years having taught us so much and grown our love for one another even more. I cant help but think of the song, "And I thought I loved you then."

And to think we are about to go through this all over again with baby #2. HOORAY :)

Relaxing and Renewing with my favorite Phi Mu girls!

I spent this past weekend in Nashville catching up with several of my Phi Mu college girls. I started the weekend Friday with lunch with my Jenn Wade. Katie and I met her for her lunchbreak and headed to downtown to get lunch and catch up! As usual we just pick up right where we left off. Sadly it had been over a year since I had seen her!!!

I sure do miss my JWade!

Katsey doing what we do best

After lunch we headed to see Momma Jessie and her newest addition Thatcher! He was only born last week and I was so thankful to get to meet him!!

It was surreal holding another newborn. Cant wait for mine to get here too :)

It was also the first time I got to meet her daughter, Miss Amelia. She is just precious! 19 months old and now a little BIG sister

Mr. Thatcher

The rest of my weekend was spent in the beautiful new home of Amy! She was so sweet to invite 7 of us Phi Mu girls that were very best friends in college for a little reunion. It had sadly been since her wedding in June 2007 when we had last all seen each other!
Friday night we had a LOT of catching up to do. Although we have all been able to keep up through blogs, facebook and the occasional phone calls... it was WONDERFUL to all be together in person. We of course picked right up where we left off and laughed a ton like always :)

Saturday we got up and went to downtown Franklin to do a little shopping. It is the neatest little town and has tons of fun shops. Natalie was thrilled to find this Diet Coke tumbler ha!

Meg opened up her beautiful new home to us so that we could enjoy her neighborhood pool. These Franklin girls know how to pick a home!!!

ready for pool time

We had a very beautiful day to relax by the pool, soak up some sun and of course chat more

Sara and I both have babies on the way and are due in February! It was so fun to celebrate with her and share stories. Amy's sweet mom had these diaper bears made for us. Notice she wants Sara to have a boy and me to have a girl :)

our comedian for the weekend- man she can always make me die laughing!

Katie and Miss Rosie

Thank you girls for an awesome and much needed girls' weekend. We definitely renewed the great bond we were able to create during our college years! Cant wait to do it again REALLY soon!!
PS. Not sure how I didnt get ONE single picture of Alicia... but she was there with us. Sorry Speash :)

Little Sister's Sweet 16

An exciting, yet surreal day when your baby sister turns the BIG 1-6! I was 11 1/2 when she was born, and therefore immediately became like a 2nd mom to her. To think that she is now that old just makes me feel REAL old ha!

16 is the magic number for none other than a CAR! She was blessed with a VW Jetta and I think it fits her perfectly!

I was brave and let her take me for a ride..... we survived! :)

Youth Camp 2010

We had the wonderful opportunity of attending our church's youth camp this year! I was so thankful that they let Griffin and I come too, as it was definitely a blessing to us. JR was one of the male counselors and loved being with the guys. It was a great time for us to get to know people a LOT better :)

Here is the whole crew- 60 students and 30 adults made for quite a large crew!

I was so grateful that my sister Rachel got to go with us! She had a great time getting to meet new people and I of course loved having her with me!!

It was in Myrtle Beach so Griffin felt like he was on vacation ha! He loved playing in the sand!!!

And he found himself a little girlfriend. Isnt is adorable that they held hands and posed???

We did so many fun things during the week. We had a group sand castle building competition. Here is JR and his team.

We also had a Murder Mystery Night. Here are the pastor friends JR and Jacob.

Rachel, me, Ashley and Stacey

We played LOTS of water games

tug of war

But the most important part of the week was studying God's word. Our theme for the week was Romans 12:2-BE TRANSFORMED

There was an awesome band- Justin Teseniar and his crew

Also a wonderful speaker- Jonge Tate
It was such a blessing to watch our students be washed in the Word and learning more about Jesus. I loved being a part of this week and hope that it will be an annual thing for our family!!

This picture of course has nothing to do with anything but I just thought it was cute :)
